What is OddsForge?
OddsForge is a decentralized prediction market platform where you can trade on the outcome of real-world events.
Overview
OddsForge lets you buy and sell positions on the outcomes of future events — spanning politics, sports, crypto, entertainment, science, and more. It's built on BNB Smart Chain (BSC) and uses a parimutuel trading model powered by smart contracts.
Think of it like a stock market, but instead of trading shares of companies, you trade shares of outcomes. If you think an event will happen, you buy YES shares. If you think it won't, you buy NO shares.
Understanding Prices
Prices on OddsForge represent the market's estimated probability of an event happening.
- If YES shares are trading at $0.70, the market believes there's a 70% chance the event will happen.
- If NO shares are trading at $0.30, the market believes there's a 30% chance it won't happen.
The prices of YES + NO always add up to $1.00. When a market resolves, winning shares pay out $1.00 each, and losing shares are worth $0.00.
How You Make Money
There are two ways to profit on OddsForge:
- Hold until resolution: Buy shares and wait for the event to resolve. If you picked the right outcome, your shares pay out $1.00 each.
- Trade the movement: As new information emerges, share prices fluctuate. You can sell your shares at any time before resolution to lock in profits if the price has moved in your favor.
